Omkara Veeranki, MD, of the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX, discusses the development of patient-derived orthotopic xenograft mouse models of esophageal adenocarcinoma and their importance in treating gastrointestinal malignancies. Furthermore, Dr Veerkanki outlines how this model can be used for multimodality treatment analysis, including radiotherapy.
