ASCO GI 2021 | Impact of socioeconomic status on CRC patient survival

Mohamed E. Salem, MD, Levine Cancer Institute, Charlotte, NC, discusses the results of a retrospective analysis evaluating the impact of socioeconomic status on colorectal cancer (CRC) patient survival using the National Cancer Database. Patients with CRC living in areas of low income and low education had worse survival, highlighting how sociodemographic characteristics should be taken into consideration in the treatment and management of patients with CRC. This interview was recorded via an online conference call with The Video Journal of Oncology (VJOncology).
