BTOG 2020 | ECLS: preventing late-stage lung cancer

Frank Sullivan, MBChB, FRCP, FRCGP, PhD, University of St. Andrews, St. Andrews, UK, tells us about the Early detection of Cancer of the Lung Scotland (ECLS) study (NCT01925625), a randomized controlled trial of those at high risk of developing lung cancer. The EarlyCDT Lung blood test was used, followed by X-ray and CT scanning, to assess the test’s ability to reduce the incidence of patients with late-stage lung cancer or unclassified presentation at diagnosis compared to standard practice. This interview took place at the 18th British Thoracic Oncology Group (BTOG) 2020 congress held in Dublin, UK.
