ASCO 2023 | Do premenopausal patients with breast cancer need chemotherapy?

Nadeem Bilani, MD, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York, NY, discusses treatment de-escalation strategies for premenopausal patients with breast cancer who may have lymph node micro-metastasis. Omitting chemotherapy may reduce treatment-related toxicity and preserve fertility in this group of patients. However, a decrease in disease recurrence may not necessarily lead to longer survival rates. This interview took place at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) 2023 Annual Congress in Chicago, IL.
