BTOG 2023 | NHS England: a pilot ctDNA study to track patient responses to novel genomic targets

Alastair Greystoke, MBChB, MSc, PhD, MRCP, University of Newcastle & Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Newcastle, UK, comments on the challenges associated with large-scale panel genomic testing following the identification of genomic abnormalities that do not currently possess licenced targeted therapy against them. Dr Greystoke shares his hopes that an NHS England pilot study that tracks patient responses to therapy through biopsies or blood samples may successfully identify receptive cohorts that can then go forward for funding. This interview took place at the British Thoracic Oncology Group (BTOG) Annual Conference 2023 in Belfast, UK.
