ESMO 2023 | How much progress have we made in targeting KRAS in GI malignancies?

Benedikt Westphalen, MD, Ludwig-Maximilians-University (LMU) Hospital, Munich, Germany, discusses advances in targeting KRAS. The advent of KRAS inhibitors, such as G12C and pan-KRAS inhibitors, have been massively beneficial across the field of oncology, especially in pancreatic cancer. Findings from the Phase III CodeBreak 300 trial (NCT05198934) of sotorasib and panitumumab in KRAS G12C-mutant colorectal cancer have demonstrated the potency of KRAS inhibition. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2023 Congress in Madrid, Spain.
