ESMO 2023 | TROPiCS-03: sacituzumab govitecan as a 2L treatment for ES-SCLC
In patients with extensive stage small cell lung cancer (ES-SCLC), treatment options are limited following progression from anti-PD-L1 therapy and chemotherapy. Andrea Ardizzoni, MD, PhD, University of Bologna, Bologna, Italy, discusses findings from the TROPiCS-03 study (NCT03964727) where sacituzumab govitecan showed promise as a second-line treatment for patients with ES-SCLC. Among 26 patients, the preliminary results revealed a 29% objective response rate and a 36% clinical benefit rate as well as a manageable safety profile suggesting the potential for sacituzumab govitecan in this challenging setting. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2023 Congress in Madrid, Spain.
