ASCO 2024 | Enhancing the efficacy of immunotherapies in pancreatic cancer with BXCL701

Despite immunotherapies having a positive impact in many types of cancer, they have not been as successful in pancreatic cancer, where chemotherapy remains the standard of care. There are only a few targetable mutations and a dense fibroblastic tumor stroma often surrounds the tumor. Benjamin Adam Weinberg, MD, FACP, Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, Washington, DC, comments how BXCL701 can improve the efficacy of immunotherapies such as pembrolizumab in pancreatic cancer. BXCL701 increases inflammasome activity and enables immunotherapies to penetrate the tumor. This interview took place during the 2024 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Meeting in Chicago, IL.
