ESMO Breast 2024 | Insights from the UPTIDER program in metastatic breast cancer

Christine Desmedt, PhD, KU Leuven, Louvain, Belgium, discusses the UPTIDER post mortem tissue donation program, which addresses the scarcity of metastatic tissue samples for research. This rapid autopsy program has collected thousands of samples, revealing significant heterogeneity in treatment targets and resistance mechanisms. These findings offer crucial insights into metastatic breast cancer biology and potential therapeutic strategies. This interview took place at the 2024 European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Breast Cancer Annual Congress in Berlin, Germany.
