Camillo Porta, MD, University of Bari Aldo Moro, Bari, Italy, gives an overview of the CheckMate 901 trial (NCT03036098), which evaluated the efficacy of nivolumab with gemcitabine-cisplatin in treatment-naïve metastatic urothelial carcinoma (mUC). The trial demonstrated significant improvements in overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) in patients receiving the combination therapy, showing higher objective response rates (ORR) and durable complete responses (CR) compared to chemotherapy alone.
