ASCO 2024 | IMmotion010: KIM-1 as a biomarker in patients with RCC receiving atezolizumab

Wenxin Xu, MD, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston, MA, comments on the Phase III IMmotion010 trial (NCT03024996) of adjuvant atezolizumab versus placebo in patients with renal cell carcinoma (RCC). Whilst previous studies have shown that patients do not benefit from adjuvant atezolizumab, a biomarker analysis revealed that patients with circulating kidney injury molecule-1 (KIM-1) benefit from adjuvant atezolizumab, further establishing KIM-1 as a minimally invasive predicative biomarker. This interview took place during the 2024 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Meeting in Chicago, IL.
