ASCO 2024 | Correlation between Trop2 and pCR in patients with HER2-positive early breast cancer

Maria Gion, MD, Ramón y Cajal University Hospital, Madrid, Spain, discusses recent findings on the correlation between Trop2 expression and pathologic complete response (pCR) in patients with HER2-positive early breast cancer treated with neoadjuvant docetaxel, carboplatin, trastuzumab, and pertuzumab. Patients with low Trop2 expression had the best pCR rates, whilst patients with high Trop2 expression had the worst pCR rate. This opens the way for future combinations of anti-Trop2 therapies with anti-HER2 therapies to circumvent this resistance mechanism. This interview took place during the 2024 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Meeting in Chicago, IL.
