ASCO 2024 | Insights into a Phase III trial of icotinib for resected EGFR-mutated stage II-IIIA NSCLC
Si-Yu Wang, MD, Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center, Guangzhou, China, reports insights into a Phase III trial (NCT01996098) of adjuvant icotinib, a first-generation EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitor (EGFR-TKI), following adjuvant chemotherapy for resected EGFR-mutated stage II-IIIA non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The increased disease free survival (DFS) seen with icotinib therapy is very promising. Dr Wang highlights that the duration of treatment with EGFR-TKIs should be balanced between efficacy and safety. This interview took place during the 2024 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Meeting in Chicago, IL.
