WCLC 2024 | Treating radiation-related brain necrosis with bevacizumab
For patients with lung cancer undergoing radiotherapy, the rates of brain necrosis is rising due to longer survival outcomes in patients. Luis Raez, MD, Memorial Cancer Institute, Pembroke Pines, FL, comments on treatment options for this group of patients. Whilst the only approved treatment is steroids, bevacizumab has been used off-label and is recommended due to its high efficacy. However, studies are needed to quantify its efficacy. This interview took place at the 2024 World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) in San Diego, CA.
