ESMO 2024 | Optimizing anti-angiogenic therapies in resectable osteosarcoma

Qiyuan Bao, MD, PhD, Ruijin Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, Shanghai, China, discusses the need to refine anti-angiogenic therapy strategies for osteosarcoma in resectable stages. He highlights concerns about toxicity in frontline settings and advocates for its use in second-line treatment for patients who are refractory to initial therapies. It is also important to identify biomarkers to predict treatment response, which will help optimize the combination of anti-angiogenic therapy and chemotherapy. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2024 Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
