ESMO 2024 | NORSE: erdafitinib and cetrelimab in metastatic urothelial cancer

Vadim Koshkin, MD, UCSF, San Francisco, CA, discusses the promising outcomes of the Phase II NORSE trial (NCT03473743), which evaluated the combination of FGFR inhibitor erdafitinib and immune checkpoint inhibitor cetrelimab in patients with metastatic disease. The trial reported a notable duration of response, particularly among patients with FGFR3 alterations. The evolving treatment landscape for urothelial cancer, including frontline pembrolizumab, may lead to innovative combination therapies, pending further results from ongoing studies like NIAGARA trial (NCT03732677). This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2024 Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
