Laura Lorenzon, MD, PhD, Policlinico Universitario Agostino Gemelli, Rome, Italy, discusses the significant impact of malnutrition in patients with gastrointestinal (GI) cancer, noting that nearly 30% experience malnutrition. The severity varies between different types of GI cancers, such as colorectal and pancreatic cancers. Early detection and targeted correction of malnutrition can lead to improved therapeutic responses and enhanced survival rates for these patients. This interview took place at the ESSO 43 congress in Antwerp, Belgium.
