ESSO 43 | Combining treatments for advanced metastasis: insights on successful cases

Mitsuru Sasako, MD, PhD, Yodogawa Christian Hospital, Osaka, Japan, discusses several cases where patients with gastrointestinal cancer and advanced metastasis, including brain, bone, and liver, were successfully treated with a combination of radiation, chemotherapy, and surgery. He highlights one exceptional case where a patient with over 90% liver metastasis achieved remission after chemotherapy and liver resection, followed by the use of immunotherapy. This interview took place at the ESSO 43 congress in Antwerp, Belgium.
