ESSO 43 | Exploring the challenges of limited druggable targets in gastric cancer compared to lung cancer

Mitsuru Sasako, MD, PhD, Yodogawa Christian Hospital, Osaka, Japan, discusses the difference in druggable targets between lung and gastric cancers. While approximately half of lung cancers have druggable targets identifiable through molecular analysis, gastric cancer has far fewer, limiting treatment options due to the disease’s heterogeneity. Despite this challenge, Dr Sasako emphasizes the importance of continued research and not giving up. This interview took place at the ESSO 43 congress in Antwerp, Belgium.
