SABCS 2024 | FAST-Forward: safety of ultra-hypofractionated radiotherapy on cardiac health

Icro Meattini, MD, University of Florence, Florence, Italy, comments on the results of the FAST-Forward trial (ISRCTN19906132), stating that ultra-hypofractionated radiotherapy, as per the trial, has no significant impact on early cardiac effects, as assessed through high-level cardiac evaluation, including 3D left ventricular ejection fraction and global longitudinal strain. This finding suggests that ultra-hypofractionated radiotherapy is safe. This interview took place at the 2024 San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS) congress in San Antonio, TX.
