Icro Meattini, MD, University of Florence, Florence, Italy, comments on the differences in treatment approaches for BRCA1 and BRCA2 carriers, highlighting that current trials do not report separate data on these groups, and notes that recent analysis suggests BRCA1 carriers may require more aggressive surgical approaches, while BRCA2 carriers may benefit from breast-conserving surgery and radiation therapy. Dr Meattini emphasizes the need for further studies to confirm these findings. This interview took place at the ESTRO 2025 congress in Vienna, Austria.
