Breast Cancer Checkpoint Inhibitors Cortisone

Hans-Christian Kolberg, MD, Marienhospital Bottrop, Bottrop, Germany, emphasizes the need for close monitoring of adverse events (AEs) associated with immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) therapy. Although immune-related AEs occur in less than 5% of cases, long-term effects can persist. Immediate treatment with cortisone by experienced healthcare professionals is pivotal to ensure patient safety. This interview took place at the 2024 San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS) congress in San Antonio, TX.
