Virginia Kaklamani, MD, UT Health San Antonio, San Antonio, TX, discusses the various therapeutic strategies available for the treatment of estrogen receptor-positive (ER+) metastatic breast cancer. Several years of research have led to the development of novel monotherapies and combination therapies. Patient-physician discussions will be pivotal in personalizing therapy based on efficacy and toxicity for combination therapies. Effective endocrine therapy is also necessary to combat cytotoxicity in breast cancer treatment. This interview took place at the 2024 San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS) congress in San Antonio, TX.
