Marcia Cruz-Correa, MD, PhD, University of Puerto Rico Comprehensive Cancer Center, San Juan, Puerto Rico, comments on the results of a global trial that investigated the efficacy of tislelizumab, an anti-PD-1 inhibitor, as a first-line therapy in patients with gastric cancer. Dr Cruz-Correa highlights that patients who received tislelizumab in addition to chemotherapy had a significant improvement in overall survival and patient-reported outcomes, including reduced abdominal pain and improved nutrition, compared to those receiving standard of care. This interview took place at the ASCO GI Cancers Symposium 2025 in San Francisco, CA.
