GU Cancers 2025 | Real-world outcomes of first-line avelumab maintenance in bladder cancer

Hiroshi Kitamura, MD, PhD, University of Toyama, Toyama, Japan, discusses findings from the JAVEMACS chart review study, evaluating real-world effectiveness and usage of avelumab first-line maintenance (1LM) in patients with locally advanced or metastatic urothelial carcinoma in Japan. Avelumab 1LM was shown to provide long-term overall survival benefits, regardless of cisplatin eligibility. This interview took place at the ASCO GU Cancers Symposium 2025 in San Francisco, CA.
