EAU 2025 | Evaluating the emerging role of MDT in bladder cancer

Comron Hassanzadeh, MD, MPH, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX, comments on the potential role of metastasis-directed therpay (MDT) in the treatment landscape of urothelial carcinoma. MDT can provide a treatment break for patients with oligometastatic disease, allowing them to continue their systemic therapy or take a break due to toxicities. The emergence of drugs such as enfortumab vedotin can offer a window of time for patients to plateau in their disease response, despite the presence of oligoprogressive disease. This interview took place at the 2025 European Association of Urology (EAU) Congress in Madrid, Spain.
