EAU 2025 | Prioritizing mental & physical health in patients with prostate cancer

Robert Rutledge, MD, FRCPC, Dalhousie University, Halifax, Canada, emphasizes the importance of addressing the mental wellbeing and social component of prostate cancer, Patient empowerment and access to quality information are important to alleviate feelings of isolation and lack of knowledge. Clinicians also need to consider the long-term impact of prostate cancer on patients’ mental and physical health, particularly their increased risk of cardiovascular disease, which can be a significant concern for men living with the disease. This interview took place at the 2025 European Association of Urology (EAU) Congress in Madrid, Spain.
