Peter Albers, German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ), Heidelberg & Heinrich-Heine-University, Düsseldorf, Germany, comments on the emerging technologies for early detection of prostate cancer, highlighting the potential of combining imaging and biomarkers with PSA testing to reduce the need for invasive diagnosis. While various Scandinavian studies have shown promise, the results may not be directly applicable to younger populations, such as those in the PROBASE study, which have a median age of 61 compared to the study participants’ age of 45-50. This interview took place at the 2025 European Association of Urology (EAU) Congress in Madrid, Spain.
