EAU 2025 | Updates in the PROBASE study of risk adapted screening for prostate cancer

Peter Albers, German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ), Heidelberg & Heinrich-Heine-University, Düsseldorf, Germany, comments on the PROBASE trial of risk adapted screening for prostate cancer and its findings. Men who have been biopsied with a negative finding are unlikely to develop prostate cancer in the next five years and duplicating PSA values are important to reduce the high-risk group that needs diagnosis. This interview took place at the 2025 European Association of Urology (EAU) Congress in Madrid, Spain.
