ESMO Breast 2025 | Potential of sTILs as a biomarker for taxane response in TNBC

Mark Opdam, The Netherlands Cancer Institute, Amsterdam, Netherlands, underscores the importance of making clinical trial outcomes publicly accessible and stratified by pathological subtype and treatment regimen to support further research. He highlights that, particularly in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), stromal tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (sTILs) should be reported and considered as a potential biomarker for predicting response to taxane-based chemotherapy. This interview took place at the 2025 European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Breast Cancer Annual Congress in Munich, Germany.
