ASCO 2025 | Real-world impact of bevacizumab with pembrolizumab in cervical cancer

Alberto Farolfi, MD, IRCCS Istituto Romagnolo per lo Studio dei Tumori (IRST) “Dino Amadori”, Meldola, Italy, gives an overview of a real-world analysis assessing the effectiveness of pembrolizumab in metastatic cervical cancer based on platinum type and use of bevacizumab. Findings suggest comparable survival outcomes between cisplatin- and carboplatin-based regimens when combined with pembrolizumab. However, addition of bevacizumab was associated with improved overall survival, with no increased risk of fistulae or pulmonary embolism, though a higher incidence of bowel perforation was observed. This interview took place during the 2025 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Meeting in Chicago, IL.
