ESMO 2025 | Chidamide plus toripalimab shows promise in advanced sarcoma

Xing Zhang, MD, Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center, Guangzhou, China, discusses results from a Phase II trial (NCT04025931) of chidamide, an oral histone deacetylase inhibitor, with toripalimab in patients with advanced sarcoma after standard therapy failure. The combination was well tolerated, with most adverse events being grade 1–2. Encouraging activity was observed across subtypes, particularly in well/dedifferentiated liposarcoma, where response rates and progression-free survival were notably improved compared to other sarcoma types. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2025 Congress in Berlin, Germany.
