ESMO 2025 | Key challenges in managing recurrent respiratory papillomatosis

Nabil Saba, MD, Emory University, Atlanta, GA, discusses the key challenges in managing recurrent respiratory papillomatosis (RRP), highlighting the significant impact on patients’ quality of life due to airway and voice issues, as well as the limitations of current surgical interventions. Dr Saba notes that while systemic therapies like bevacizumab have shown promise, there is a need for more lasting solutions, such as immunotherapy approaches that target the underlying viral causes of the disease, with potential future directions including combinatorial therapies. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2025 Congress in Berlin, Germany.
