ESMO Asia 2025 | The current state of cellular therapies in the Asia-Pacific region

Han Chong Toh, MD, National Cancer Centre Singapore, Singapore, discusses the landscape of cellular therapies in the Asia-Pacific region, highlighting the challenges of access and affordability, particularly with costly treatments like CAR T-cells, which have already been approved in hematological malignancies. Different countries in Asia have varying rules and regulations governing the subsidy and health financing of CAR-T cells, and various initiatives are being implemented to increase access to these therapies, potentially through manufacturing their own cell and gene therapy products. This interview took place at 2025 European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Asia Congress in Singapore, Singapore.
