Andrea Dwyer, MPH, University of Colorado Cancer Center, Aurora, CO, discusses international and contrasting perspectives on early-onset colorectal cancer. Work with Fight Colorectal Cancer examined early onset disease focusing on etiologic drivers. A pulse survey assessed patient/caregiver perspectives. Key findings include widespread lack of awareness that colorectal cancer can occur young patients. Caregivers often unaware of clinical trials, germline/genetic testing importance, and their own disease susceptibility. In addition, greater awareness needed about family history connections. This interview took place at the 2026 American Society of Clinical Oncology Gastrointestinal Cancers Symposium in San Francisco, CA.
