CACA 2025 | Molecular subtypes and immune landscapes in gastrointestinal cancers

Shan Zeng, MD, Central South University Changsha, Changsha, China, comments on tumor molecular subtyping and the immune microenvironment of gastrointestinal (GI) cancers. As GI tumors are very heterogeneous, drug resistance is an unmet need, and are known to be immunologically cold, making immunotherapies unsuitable therapies. Integrative approaches in oncology where essential in this space, where patient focused approaches and advances in multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) can benefit patients. This interview took place at the 2025 Chinese Anti-Cancer Association (CACA) Science & Technology Award Talks in Kunming, China.
