ITOC 2026 | Targeted 4-1BBL immunotherapy approach in prostate cancer

Daniele Mascarelli, PhD, University of Campinas, Campinas, Brazil, discusses a next-generation targeted immunomodulatory protein in prostate cancers. The 4-1BB/4-1BBL pathway has been identified as a key co-stimulation strategy for T cell activation and proliferation, and a 4-1BBL protein associated with a tumor-binding domain has been developed to restrict immune system activation to the tumor microenvironment, which has demonstrated promising in vitro and in vivo results. This interview took place at 12th Immunotherapy of Cancer (ITOC) Conference in Munich, Germany.
