ASCO 2026 | Pembrolizumab plus CRT shows long-term benefit in PD-L1-rich HNSCC: KEYNOTE-412

Barbara Burtness, MD, Yale School of Medicine, New Haven, CT, discusses the findings from the population subgroup analysis of the Phase III KEYNOTE-412 trial (NCT03040999) in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). She highlights that that pembrolizumab with chemoradiation (CRT) delivered a significant advantage in patients with PD-L1-rich tumors, with a 12% difference in five-year event-free survival (EFS) and a 10% difference in five-year overall survival (OS). This interview took place during the 2026 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Meeting in Chicago, IL.
