WCLC 2026 | Treatment of oligometastatic disease in patients with molecularly targetable alterations

William William Jr., MD, Oncoclínicas, São Paulo, Brazil, explores how to approach treatment of oligometastatic disease in patients with molecularly targetable alterations. Few studies have investigated this population, with the majority of data from patients with EGFR mutations and those treated with first-generation tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs). Dr William Jr. highlights that studies have shown that local therapies can improve progression-free survival and overall survival, and more research which investigates patients treated with third-generation TKIs. This interview took place at the IASLC 2026 World Conference on Lung Cancer congress in Seoul, Republic of Korea.
