José Perea, MD, PhD, European University of Madrid, Madrid, Spain, discusses the importance of considering the unique needs of patients with early onset colorectal cancer, including psychosocial aspects, sexual activity, and fertility. A tailored approach to screening is needed for this subpopulation, as they are not adequately covered by general screening programs, and identifying individuals under 50 who are at risk of developing early onset cancer will be important. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2026 Congress in Madrid, Spain.
