EAU 2021 | Surgery in metastatic germ cell tumors to reduce disease burden and improve long-term outcomes

Peter Albers, MD, University of Düsseldorf, Düsseldorf, Germany, gives an update on novel approaches to reducing disease burden in germ cell tumors, in particular highlighting long-term survival rates in patients with testicular cancer and long-term outcomes with regards to treatment-related adverse events. Prof. Albers discusses whether surgery in metastatic seminoma can be used to reduce disease burden, thus omitting the need for systemic treatment.
