Academic history

Alison Schram, MD, obtained her undergraduate BSc degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, before moving on to receive her degree in Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA. Upon achieving her certifications, Dr Schram attended Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston, MA, as an internal resident, and now works at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC), New York, NY, as a Medical Oncologist & Early Drug Development Specialist, having initially joined the institution in 2015 with an interest in women’s health. Additionally, Dr Schram is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College, New York, NY, where she is dedicated to teaching and mentoring medical students, guiding the next generation of physicians in their education and professional development.

Speaking on clinical trials investigating gynecological cancers

Dr Schram has significantly contributed to drug research and the advancement of patient outcomes in various gynecological cancers, including uterine (endometrial), ovarian, and cervical cancers. Her research focuses on developing targeted therapies for genetically defined cancers, with significant contributions to clinical trials investigating novel treatments.

She has been involved in the Phase II eNRGy trial evaluating zenocutuzumab for NRG1 fusion-positive cancers, showing promising response rates across multiple tumor types. Additionally, Dr Schram has participated in research on RLY-4008, a selective FGFR2 inhibitor, in the ReFocus study for patients with advanced breast cancer. She is also part of the Phase I study examining RLY-2608 alone or in combination with fluvestrant in patients with breast cancer, aiming to establish this novel therapy’s safety and preliminary efficacy.
