Vadim Koshkin, MD, is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Hematology and Oncology at the University of California, San Francisco, CA. He co-leads the Bladder Cancer Program in Medical Oncology and is also a genitourinary medical oncologist at the UCSF Helen Diller Comprehensive Cancer Center, San Francisco, CA.
Dr Koshkin obtained his medical degree at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. He completed an internship and residency, both in internal medicine at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI. Following this, he completed a fellowship in hematology-oncology at Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, OH, and is board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology.
Speaking on treatment of bladder and prostate cancers
Dr Koshkin’s primary research interest is in novel treatments and optimizing current therapies for bladder and prostate cancers. He has been involved in the design and implementation of multiple clinical trials for targeted and immunotherapies, and more recently in trials investigating imaging and radioligand therapies. Dr Koshkin is co-leading the Urothelial Cancer Network to Investigate Therapeutic Experiences (UNITE) collaboration, which aims to understand real-world outcomes of enfortumab vedotin in patients with metastatic urothelial cancer. In addition, Dr Koshkin’s research aims to discover and validate novel biomarkers and treatment targets in order to personalize treatment for patients.
