ESMO 2024 | Treatment options in second-line urothelial carcinoma post EV and pembrolizumab
Vadim Koshkin, MD, UCSF, San Francisco, CA, discusses the evolving treatment landscape for metastatic urothelial carcinoma, especially in the second-line setting following frontline enfortumab vedotin (EV) and pembrolizumab, which are now approved in the US and Europe. With no standard of care yet established for second-line treatment, options include platinum-based regimens (carboplatin/gemcitabine or cisplatin/gemcitabine), infigratinib for FGFR3-altered patients, and experimental agents like sacituzumab govitecan. Patients with high HER2 expression may also benefit from trastuzumab deruxtecan (T-DXd). This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2024 Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
