GU Cancers 2021 | State of the art research in bladder cancer treatment

Sangeeta Goswami, MD, PhD, University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX, gives an outline of the state of the art therapies for bladder cancer at ASCO GU 2021. In particular, Dr Goswami discusses the development of immunotherapies such as immune checkpoint inhibitors and summarizes the challenges of implementing them for patients with bladder cancer, highlighting combinatorial and patient selection approaches. Furthermore, Dr Goswami discusses the development of novel therapies such as enfortumab vedotin and FGFR3-directed therapies. This interview took place during the 2021 Genitourinary Cancers Symposium.
