Goutam Chakraborty, PhD, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York, NY, explores findings from a decade-long study investigating high-risk prostate cancer with very low PSA levels. Patients in this group had higher rates of biochemical recurrence, lymph node invasion, and neurovascular involvement, suggesting a more aggressive disease course. Transcriptomic analysis linked this subtype to metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer, with cellular models showing increased migration potential.
