Radwa Sharaf, PhD, Foundation Medicine Inc, Cambridge, MA, discusses recent research regarding the discovery of human tumor samples with mutations in the TERC template sequence. The sequencing of several samples have revealed TERC template mutations that result in the elongation of telomeres, a rare occurrence observed in tumors. However, these aberrations are not currently targetable. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2022 Congress in Paris, France.
