Speaking at the 2019 Genitourinary Cancers Symposium, held in San Francisco, CA, John Gore, MD, MS, of the University of Washington School of Medicine, Seattle, WA, discusses how patients often raise awareness of other outcomes that researchers may not have considered, such as the financial burden of treatment (in addition to just the clinical success). Dr Gore highlights the importance of considering these patient-centered outcomes and the need to address them earlier on when making research designs so that the ideas and questions can be addressed adequately.
