While delays were seen in the UK’s Targeted Lung Health Check screening programme, a number of ongoing trials and pilot programs successfully continued to perform lung cancer screening throughout the pandemic, which Prof. Baldwin highlights as a remarkable achievement. As the UK moves away from large surges in COVID-19 cases, the Targeted Lung Health Check screening programme has resumed, thus allowing the early detection of lung cancer.
