ASCO 2024 | Tocilizumab with ipilimumab and nivolumab in unresectable melanoma
Jeffrey Weber, MD, PhD, NYU Langone Health, New York, NY, discusses findings from a Phase II trial (NCT03999749) of tocilizumab, an IL-6 inhibitor, with ipilimumab and nivolumab in patients with unresectable melanoma. A favorable overall response rate was reported and the addition of tocilizumab resulted in a low rate of grade 3/4 immune-related adverse events. Novel biomarkers of response and toxicity were identified, supporting the efficacy and safety of this combination therapy. This interview took place during the 2024 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Meeting in Chicago, IL.
